Aviator’s Garden, Yekaterinburg
Design competition for the former machine factory UPZ (production of aeronautical instruments and devices). The concept was developed in a consortium with A5 Planung, Wiesbaden and Icube, Moscow. Due to the attractive and representative site the created program provides high-class retail and gastro areas, exclusive apartments and sports, SPA and fitness facities to fulfill all requirements. A wavelike roof above the retail plaza is accessible for residents and offers attractive outside facilities, protected against prying eyes. The architectural approach was to save a bigger part of existing buildings, to renovate and refurbish, supporting identity formation and general acceptance.
